Dr. Christopher Holcombe grew up on a family farm in a small town near San Antonio, Texas.
Before joining the veterinary field, Dr. Holcombe attended Baylor University in Waco, TX, where he received a bachelor's degree in linguistics and psychology, afterward getting a job as a legal researcher at the Texas Senate in Austin, TX. Dr. Holcombe quickly decided a legal profession was not in his future, and he began working as a technician at a mixed animal clinic in his hometown while preparing for veterinary school.
Dr. Holcombe earned his doctorate of veterinary medicine from Texas A&M University and moved to Idaho with his fiance--who you may already know as Dr. Caroline Cunningham--to begin practicing as a mixed animal veterinarian in rural Oregon. Dr. Holcombe has a passion for emergency medicine, feline medicine, and soft tissue surgery. He is excited to be joining the Intermountain Pet Hospital team to pursue these interests.
Dr. Holcombe and his fiance have a dog named Starla and two cats named Marky and Stringbean. In his free time, Dr. Holcombe enjoys practicing Brazilian jiu-jitsu, playing board games, reading, and exploring the beautiful landscapes in Idaho and Oregon!
